Morgan Freeman interviewed on The Treatment

The person I chose to do this assignment on was Morgan Freeman. The film the interview was on was "Ten Items or Less".Morgan Freeman ha been in over 100 titles in the film indusrty. One of his most famous was "Shawshank Redemption" where Morgan plays the narrorater as well as an inmate in the film. The treatment interview with morgan freeman and brad silberling took place on Wednesday December 13, 2006.

As i was listening to the interview i was intrigued to know some acting secrets of the great Morgan Freeman. Also the general topic of being an actor was the thing I found most intresting,The part where morgan said you basicly got to be yourself to do certain scenes and at other times you must go to the environment to feed certain films. I found it also funny that Morgan reads the script before a film and if the script does not suite him or cling to his acting improvs , he will not do the film and he asks to find someone else for the roll.

One part of the interview Morgan says you cant stand outside the character and look at it you have to start on the inside also he says he cant be spoon fed the script and at the same time you cant tell the audience your an actor being an actor that is doing character study you must buy the premise and be the owner. Basicly, what I think he saying is that in order to play an actor well you have to fall into the character with a passion and if you cant get in the grove off the role your playing dont do it at all so what i got out of that quote was if your going do something do it with a 150% of ability.

Sometimes Morgan gets motivation from outside the script he says in the interview that "sometimes I will walk down the street behind a man limping and I will start limping to to get the improve right". what i got from this quote was that sometimes you have to go the extra mile to sell your self as a believeable actor.

In my opinion Morgan Freemanis a valuable asset to the film world and contributes his acting skills that is  necessary to get a deep real feeling of a character and film. as an African American actor I believe Morgan has broke many barriers to become one of my favorite actors of all time Because he helps me understand situations that I could not possibly understand without his contributions.
